Security guards in Haringey

Albiz Security can provide SIA-licensed security officers anywhere in Haringey, from the Lee Valley industrial estates at Tottenham Hale and Central Leaside to the shops of Wood Green, Crouch End and Muswell Hill. Officers can guard building sites as parts of Tottenham are rebuilt, we can plan cover for premises near the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Finsbury Park and Alexandra Palace around their event days, and we monitor officers and sites 24/7.

Which parts of Haringey do we cover?

All of Haringey, from Tottenham and the River Lea in the east to Highgate, Muswell Hill and Crouch End in the west.

The east of the borough is where the industry is. The London Plan makes Tottenham Hale a Strategic Industrial Location, and the Central Leaside Business Area another, shared with Enfield and Waltham Forest, and it expects the Lee Valley to keep supplying industrial and logistics space for the rest of London. Tottenham Hale is also one of the growth areas of the Lee Valley Opportunity Area, planned for 21,000 homes and 13,000 jobs across four boroughs, and is earmarked to become a district centre. In north Tottenham, Northumberland Park is home to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Wood Green is the borough’s Metropolitan town centre and the heart of the Wood Green and Haringey Heartlands Opportunity Area, with room for 4,500 homes. The London Plan picks out the Clarendon Road gasworks and publicly owned land around the High Road as places to build.

The district centres are spread across the borough: Crouch End and Muswell Hill in the west, Green Lanes in the middle, and Bruce Grove with Tottenham High Road, and West Green Road with Seven Sisters, in the east (London Plan).

Two big green spaces host events. Alexandra Palace, between Wood Green and Muswell Hill, is run by a charity with Haringey Council as its trustee, and comes with 196 acres of parkland (Alexandra Palace). Finsbury Park, on the borough’s southern edge, holds large events of up to 10,000 people and major events of up to 50,000 (Haringey Council).

What needs guarding in Haringey?

Warehouses and yards. On the Lee Valley estates, an officer can run the gatehouse, check HGVs and drivers in and out, and patrol the yard and perimeter out of hours: see warehouse and industrial security.

Council building sites. Haringey is aiming for at least 3,000 council homes by 2031. Its High Road West scheme includes rebuilding the Love Lane Estate, with new homes for about half its residents (Haringey Council). Sites like these need their gates controlled by day and guarding at night and weekends: see construction site security.

Shops. In Wood Green, along Green Lanes and on Tottenham High Road, a uniformed retail security officer backs up your staff and deters theft by being seen.

Events. Haringey is London Borough of Culture for 2027 (Haringey Council). For an event of your own, our event security officers can check guests in, manage queues and work to your event plan.

How do event days affect Haringey premises?

  • Stadium days close roads in four phases. From 8am, Worcester Avenue closes so that staff and vehicles going into the stadium’s basement car park can be checked, and Park Lane closes three hours before the event. Two hours before, traffic marshals close the High Road from White Hart Lane to Bromley Road, and residents and businesses need a permit to pass the checkpoints. Afterwards, Leeside Road runs one-way eastbound and Willoughby Lane one-way northbound for one to two hours (Haringey Council). If your yard or site is nearby, plan deliveries, collections and shift changes around the fixtures, and use traffic marshals to see vehicles safely in and out.
  • Park events bring crowds. Major events take over Finsbury Park each summer, and the council warns that large and major events close parts of the park and bring large numbers of people into the area (Haringey Council). Check the event calendar before you book deliveries or plan extra cover for a nearby building.
  • Central Leaside crosses three boroughs. Part of the estate is in Enfield and part in Waltham Forest, so check which council’s rules apply to your unit.

Services

Which of our services suit Haringey?

  4. Retail security

Wood Green is the borough's Metropolitan town centre, and Green Lanes, Crouch End, Muswell Hill and Tottenham High Road are district centres.

  5. Traffic marshal hire

On stadium event days, roads around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium close in phases, and Leeside Road and Willoughby Lane run one-way afterwards, so site deliveries nearby need careful timing.
