Security guards in Enfield

Albiz Security can provide SIA-licensed security officers anywhere in Enfield, a borough with four Strategic Industrial Locations along the Lee Valley and the Great Cambridge Road. Officers can run gatehouses and patrol yards for warehouses and distribution sites, guard building sites in regeneration areas such as Meridian Water, which alone is planned for 10,000 homes, and work in shops from Enfield Town to Edmonton Green, and we monitor officers and sites 24/7.

Which parts of Enfield do we cover?

All of it, from Edmonton and the North Circular in the south to Enfield Lock in the north, and west to Southgate.

Start with the industrial land. The London Plan lists four Strategic Industrial Locations here: Brimsdown, Freezywater and Innova Park, the Great Cambridge Road, and the Central Leaside Business Area, which carries on into Haringey and Waltham Forest. Enfield’s part of Central Leaside includes Harbet Road, the Eleys Estate and the north of Montagu (Enfield Council). The plan calls the Lee Valley ideally located for freight and logistics, straddling the North Circular and the M25 (London Plan).

The same valley is being rebuilt. The Lee Valley Opportunity Area takes in Meridian Water and Ponders End. Meridian Water, a 20-year programme led by Enfield Council on a 210-acre site next to the Lee Valley Regional Park, is planned for 10,000 homes and 6,000 jobs. At Edmonton EcoPark, the North London Waste Authority is building a new energy recovery facility (North London Heat and Power Project). In the west, the New Southgate Opportunity Area is shared with Barnet and Haringey.

For shopping, Enfield Town is the borough’s Major town centre, with district centres at Edmonton Green, Angel Edmonton, Palmers Green and Southgate (London Plan). The plan places both Edmonton centres in strategic areas for regeneration.

Most of Enfield’s homes are houses rather than flats. At the 2021 Census, 61% of households lived in a detached, semi-detached or terraced house (ONS), in neighbourhoods that run from Ponders End and Edmonton across to Palmers Green and Southgate.

What needs guarding in Enfield?

Warehouses and distribution centres. An officer on the gatehouse can check HGVs, drivers and visitors in and out, record trailer numbers if you need them and direct vehicles to the right bay. Out of hours, they can patrol the yard, the loading docks and the perimeter fence. See warehouse and industrial security. Where HGVs, forklifts and people on foot share a yard, traffic marshals can guide vehicles onto the bays and keep the walkways clear.

Multi-let estates and smaller units. A unit that closes at night may not need an officer all the time. Mobile patrols can visit at set or random times to check doors, shutters and fences, and our keyholding and alarm response service can send an officer when your alarm goes off.

Construction. At Meridian Water, the council is building new roads, bridges and parks to open up land for homes and business space (Meridian Water). Sites on that scale need the gate run during the working day and guarding at night: see construction site security.

Shops. In Enfield Town, Edmonton Green and Palmers Green, a uniformed retail security officer backs up your staff and helps prevent stock loss without putting customers off.

What should Enfield sites plan for?

  • Where lorries wait. Enfield’s estates sit in the Lee Valley corridor between the North Circular and the M25, which the London Plan picks out for freight and logistics. Agree with us where HGVs will wait while drivers are checked in, so the queue doesn’t spill onto the road outside.
  • Phased building next to new homes. At Meridian Water, people already live in the first new homes while building carries on around them (Meridian Water). On a site that grows beside occupied homes, agree patrol routes and gate rules that keep up as each phase opens.
  • Estates that cross the border. Central Leaside runs into Haringey and Waltham Forest, so check which council’s rules apply to your unit before you plan deliveries or parking.

Services

Which of our services suit Enfield?

  1. Warehouse and industrial security

Brimsdown, Freezywater and Innova Park, and the Great Cambridge Road are Strategic Industrial Locations, and Enfield's share of Central Leaside takes in Harbet Road, the Eleys Estate and Montagu.

  2. Construction site security

Meridian Water, led by Enfield Council, is planned for 10,000 homes and 6,000 jobs over 20 years, with new roads and bridges opening up its land for building.

  3. Mobile security patrols

On estates such as Harbet Road and the Eleys Estate, a unit that closes at night may not need an officer on site, and patrols can check it at set or random times instead.

  4. Keyholding and alarm response

Not every unit at Brimsdown or on the Great Cambridge Road works through the night. For one that stands empty, we can hold the keys and send an SIA-licensed officer when the alarm goes off, so your staff don't have to.

  5. Retail security

Enfield Town is the borough's Major town centre, and Edmonton Green, Angel Edmonton, Palmers Green and Southgate are district centres.
